NEW Pétanque Terrains

The playing of pétanque/boules at The Racehorse has been a tradition at the pub for many years, but until now there has never been a proper dedicated area to play. Now on the Village Green directly behind the pub you will find not one, but two brand new pétanque terrains (as we are told they are called). 

The pub committee requested and were kindly given permission by Westhall Parish Council to install the terrains. The ground works and construction were carried out over the last few months by Foxwood Building Services (Westhall) and they are now completed and already being used. The cost of the works was around £2,200 and it was funded from our own reserves. 

Several events & competitions are already booked and it is obviously hoped that this facility will attract more customers to the pub. In-between times however it is important for the pub committee to stress that the terrains are available for anyone in the community to come and use freely.
